AN AL FRESCO WEDDING AT THE FIG HOUSE IN HIGHLAND PARK

One of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer is capturing a vast array of love stories. Today, I am looking back on Naomi and Andy's celebration at The Fig House in Los Angeles.

Naomi and Andy The Fig House Wedding

These two met in a way that most comedians do, attending improv classes in New York City at the Upright Citizen Brigade; fast forward to three years of dating, Andy proposed to Naomi one evening in their apartment. While they had discussed getting engaged and married before, Naomi was surprised by the sweet proposal.

Naomi and Andy planned what they dubbed a 'Lovers Bar Mitzvah' tying the knot on their thirteenth dating anniversary. They designed a casual but elevated evening for their guests to enjoy al fresco that made their friends and family feel comfortable and allowed everyone to have a chance to meet, catch up, and mingle.

When the couple began planning, they built an incredible vendor team they trusted and could hand over all the details since they only had about seven months to plan. The whole day came together beautifully.

The couple was worried about their outdoor ceremony and reception when Mother Nature sent rain to LA for 24 hours. However, two hours before Naomi was going to walk down the aisle, the rain stopped, and I think Naomi said it best, "The universe was on our side."

Naomi selected a deep, bright color palette with deep red, yellow, and blue with touches of bronze. They also added personal touches throughout the day, starting with their close friend and professional writer officiating their wedding. This created a funny and personal ceremony.

Another personal touch and one of the couples' favorite details was their custom cocktail napkins that feature their beloved pets.
